June meeting —- Fair-Isle Project:
The project I am going to teach will be a simple fair isle headband … kinda like a ski headband. The materials needed are: 1 – 16″ size 6 circular needle and two different color worsted weight yarns. One should be a dark solid color and the other may be a solid light color or a yarn that changes colors with longer transitions like poems yarn. Also a long strand of scrap yarn to make a provisional cast on. That should be in a cotton or more slippery yarn.

Sharon will teach Estonian Lace class on August 13 & 14.

Ravelry:
Annie will have a class on how to use Raverly. This class will expand your horizons and hopefully you will be able to use Ravelry to its fullest.  It will be held on August 21, 2011 at Sewickley Public Library at 1:00.
 
Bishop Conair: 
The fall retreat for Bishop Conair is scheduled for Oct. 21, 22, and 23, 2011.
 
Bishop Conair spring retreat is being scheduled for April 20, 21, and 22, 2012 this is the second week after Easter next year.
 
Finishing Class
The guild will have Kathy Stanley come back on June 25 and 26, 2011. A signup sheet was passed around.  Kathy Stanley class will be at the Sewickley Public Library.

Correspondence
We received a letter from Wrapped in Love Foundation the mission of the foundation is blankets for adults and teens who are currently undergoing Chemo Therapy.
The members decided to make 12 by 12 squares, with a garter stitch edge around the squares to be turn in, at the June meeting.
Henri has volunteered to sew the squares together for the guild.

Wolf Creek Yarns will be having a Yarn tasting at our May meeting.

If the members are interested there will be a charge.

Yarn Tasting is where you will get samples of new yarns to try, they can be either spring or fall yarns.

If you like the yarns you can purchase enough for projects at a discount.

If a member does not wish to be a part of the yarn tasting they may have show and share, or just knit.

The June meeting will be teaching the technique of Fair Isle.

A signup sheet and a lunch sheet for Box Lunches will be passed around.  The lunches will be from T-bones, same place as when we had Sally Mellville.

We will be hosting this again for those unable to attend. We will pick a weekend at the February meeting.

Finishing Class – will be held the third weekend of January 2011, both days Saturday and Sunday. There was a homework sheet passed out previously, and if you did not receive it, please contact Diane Patterson. Saturday the class will start at 9:15 and will end around 1:00 no break for lunch. Diane has the unit that we are sending the Helmet Liners to and they are in Afghanistan.  If you made a liner, or more than one helmet liner, please write a note to go with each one for the soldiers.
